In a continual commitment to patient care and radiation reduction in computed tomography (CT), Siemens Healthcare has launched SIERRA (Siemens Radiation Reduction Alliance) and has established an expert panel to advance the cause of dose reduction in CT.
A new computed tomography (CT) scanner that provides physicians with precise images of internal organs with a single rotation of the gantry has been developed by Toshiba. The Toshiba Aquilion ONE 320-detector row CT system with pediatric imaging capabilities can image an entire organ in a single rotation or over multiple rotations, showing real-time dynamic movement and resulting in lower doses of radiation.
An agreement has been signed between Royal Philips Electronics and the VU University Medical Centre for conducting a joint research on new multi-modality imaging solutions aimed at improving the early detection and treatment of diseases such as cancer and neurological and cardiovascular diseases.
