Cancer, malaria major health problems in North East, India: Report

A consultative Committee of Parliament headed by A Ramdoss, has identified Cancer, Malaria, TB and HIV/AIDS as the major health problems in Northeastern region of India. The Committee has urged the State governments to ensure effective implementation of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) so as to improve both health infrastructure and delivery services.

Haryana to make huge investments on health infrastructure

The Haryana government has announced a Rs 15 billion plan to add new health infrastructure and upgrade nine hospitals. Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said here that hospitals were being upgraded at Bhiwani, Rohtak, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Sonepat, Panipat, Karnal, Panchkula and Hisar as per the Indian public health standards.
