Multinational pathology lab and diagnostic chain Metropolis Healthcare Ltd has announced a medical talent outreach programme called Medengage to offer scholarship and mentorship to medical talent across India.

Under the Medengage programme, medical students will be trained in laboratory skills through exposure to international laboratory ecosystem, advanced industry practices and knowledge sharing.

“We look forward to providing world-class laboratory assistance to raise the bar of academic research in this nation. I fully believe that the exceptionally talented scientific team at Metropolis will provide support and mentorship to these young minds, said Dr Sushil Shah, Chairman and Founder, Metropolis Healthcare Ltd.

Access to a fully world-class laboratory is a challenge for many medical students in India. “Since we have an apt environment which will be useful for this purpose, our aim is to help budding professionals be active go-getters and globally renowned researchers,” said Dr Kirti Chaddha, Associate Vice President, Metropolis Healthcare Ltd.

The initiative was launched in April 2017 and is open to under-graduate and/or post-graduate medical students across India.

Metropolis processes 30 million tests a year and is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) and the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the gold standard in laboratory accreditation.
