Mobile health units roll out in Guwahati, India

After launching the first batch ‘Hospitals on Wheels’ in Guwahati, Kokrajhar programme has received its share of mobile healthcare facilities. Introduced under the National Rural Health Mission, the mobile medical units are equipped with X-Ray machines, a microscope, ECG machine, ultrasound, autoclaves, auto-analyser, stretchers and a pharmacy.

To enhance the standards of millions of pharmacists in the country, the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has urged the Health Ministry to amend the Pharmacy Act to make CEP (continuing education programme) mandatory for registration and subsequent renewal under the Pharmacy Act.
