India reported 48,786 new cases in the last 24 hours. The country’s active caseload declined to 5,23,257 and active cases constituted 1.72% of total cases.
The country recorded 2,94,88,918 total recoveries across the country until now as 61,588 patients recovered during the last 24 hours. The daily recoveries continued to outnumber the daily new cases for the 49th consecutive day. The recovery rate increased to 96.97%. The weekly positivity rate remained below 5% as it currently stood at 2.64%. The daily positivity rate is at 2.54%, less than 5% for 24 consecutive days.

Also, testing capacity ramped up as 41.20 crore tests conducted, and 33.57 crores vaccine doses administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
