With aim to strengthen the healthcare sector, Haryana government has decided to raise the retirement age of doctors from 58 to 65 years.

Anil Vij, Health Minister of Haryana  announced the decision for the same which was taken in a meeting presided over by Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister of Haryana. 

Vij said that it has been decided that those doctors who were working on administrative posts would retire at the age of 58 years, but they would be able to continue to serve up to 65 years only if they opt to practice in any health institute of their choice.


The minister has also been decided to invite applications from the retired doctors who would like to rejoin the service as medical practitioner. The doctors would be re-employed and this measure would help in checking the shortage of doctors in the State.
