43,263 New Cases in India

India reported 43,263 new cases in the last 24 hours. The active cases account for 1.19% of the total cases, and the country’s active caseload stands at 3,93,614, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said.

According to MoHFW, the country’s recovery rate currently is 97.48% as 40,567 recovered in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recovery count to 3,23,04,618. The weekly positivity rate is 2.43%, less than 3% for the last 76 days. The daily positivity rate reported to be 2.38%, less than 3% for the last 10 days.


With the administration of 86,51,701 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, country’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage surpassed the cumulative figure of 71.65 crores (71,65,97,428) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 73, 56,173 sessions, it added.

The country’s testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded as the last 24 hours witnessed a total of 18,17,639tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 53.68 crores (53, 68, 17, 243) cumulative tests, the union health ministry also informed.

In a related development, MoHFW informed that more than 70.63 crores (70,63,47,565) vaccine doses have been provided to states and union territories so far through the Government of India’s free of cost channel and direct state procurement category. Further, more than 96 Lakh doses (96,25,760) are in the pipeline. Over 5.58 crores (5,58,07,125) balance and unutilised Covid vaccine doses are still available with states and union territories to be administered.
