UnitedHealthcare in the US said it is helping improve access to healthcare by connecting its network of doctors, clinics, hospitals and other healthcare services via a new iPod application, DocGPS App.

The DocGPS application to be used on Apple’s mobile phone can help patients locate nearby doctors, clinics and hospitals within the UnitedHealthcare network and obtain detailed directions.

The application can search for 23 difference types of healthcare facilities and 58 physician specialities.
