The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the state government officials to make arrangements for the precautionary dose of vaccination for protection against Covid 19 to the personnel on election duty. He said that this needs to be done in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Government of India.


The Chief Minister was reviewing the situation of Covid-19 in the state, at a meeting of Team-9 convened at his official residence here today. He said that on an average 25 lakh people are being vaccinated against Covid every day in the state. This capacity should be increased to 30 lakh per day. He said that according to the guidelines of the Government of India, preparations should be made to give precaution dose to the personnel on election duty.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister was apprised that 16,142 new cases of corona infection have been reported in the state in the last 24 hours. During this period 17,600 persons were discharged after successful treatment. At present, the number of active cases of corona in the state is 95,866. In the last 24 hours, 2,41,457 lakh corona tests were conducted in the state. Till now over 9.7 crore Covid tests have been completed in the state.
