Strengthening it’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, Uttar Pradesh has so far administered over 38,68,052 vaccine doses to children between 15 to 18 years of age. The immunisation drive for children has picked up pace in the state as per the target of vaccinating all the adolescents by January 15.
The most populous state has so far given over 22,15,96,577 ‘Shots of Life’ to people. In addition, as Uttar Pradesh continues to conduct the vaccination drive most successfully in the country, the state has also achieved the landmark of administering the first dose of the covid-19 vaccine to over 91.27 percent of the eligible adult population. While over 55.61 percent of the population is fully vaccinated in the state.
UP is followed by Maharashtra with 14.19 crore doses. In the light of the emergence of the new variant ‘omicron’, the government has expedited its vaccination coverage in the state. According to the latest figures on CoWin, Uttar Pradesh has administered 13.90 first doses of the vaccine so far. As the cases rise in other states in the country, the demand to get vaccinated remains high as it is the only option to fight out the invisible enemy and the new variants of coronavirus.
Meanwhile, out of over 2.55 lakh samples tested, as many as 14,765 tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours. In the same period, 1070 people recovered from the infection. At present, the total number of active cases is 71,022, out of which nearly 97 percent of patients are in home isolation. In pursuance of the directives issued by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the process of screening and testing has been intensified in the state.
The establishment of Covid Help Desk in all the offices, industrial units has been made mandatory. The Chief Minister has also instructed to maintain constant communication with the people under treatment in home isolation and to deliver medical kits to them as required.
