The active cases of Covid 19 have been coming down in Uttar Pradesh. Maintaining the positive recovery trend — high recoveries and a low number of fresh Covid-19 cases, the state has managed to reduce the active covid caseload in Uttar Pradesh to 72,393.

Out of as many as 1,93,419 samples tested in the last 24 hours, Uttar Pradesh limited the number of fresh infections to 8,901, indicating consistent drop in the number of daily cases. In the same period, another 16,786 patients recovered from the infection.

Where major other states have been witnessing a greater surge of fresh Covid-19 infections (daily cases ranging till 30,000), Uttar Pradesh with emphasis on strict screening, aggressive vaccination and containment measures has been able to control the covid spread comparatively well.

Nearly 99 pc adult population partially vaccinated :

The state is also leading India’s vaccination drive with over 25.35 crore total doses administered so far. Uttar Pradesh is followed by Maharashtra with 14.70 crore doses administered till date. In terms of percentage, about 67 per cent of the adult population is fully vaccinated and nearly 99 percent have received one vaccine dose.

Strengthening its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, the state of Uttar Pradesh has also administered over 9.67 lakh ‘precaution doses’ to healthcare, frontline workers and those above 60 years. Committed to providing protection cover to children in the age group of 15-18, the state of Uttar Pradesh has so far administered vaccine doses to over 61 percent teenagers.

Since the beginning of the inoculation drive for this age bracket, more than 8,521,043 teens have received their first dose of vaccine. The government has also set a target to provide complete first dose coverage to all the eligible teens in a time-bound manner.

Just a few days after crossing the twenty-five crore dose milestone, UP has also inched closer to becoming the first state with over 10 crore fully vaccinated individuals. This will be another major landmark as the state continues to conduct one of the most successful vaccination campaigns in the country.
