2,47,417 new cases in the last 24 hours were reported in the country in the last 24 hours taking the active caseload at 11,17,531, revealed statistics shared by the union health ministry. 154.61 cr vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive.

With 5488 Omicron cases in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to interact with the Chief Ministers today to assess the Covid-19 scenario across states. The rising number of cases across the country have invited fresh curbs, including night curfew and weekend lockdown across cities.

In a high-level meeting the previous week, PM Modi had assessed the status of the vaccination campaign and the preparedness of the healthcare system amidst the growing number of Covid-19 and Omicron cases in the country. More than 76 lakh Vaccine Doses were administered in the last 24 hours in India.
