UP Government working at war-footing

Indicating control over the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, out of the 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh, no fresh infections were reported from as many as 70 districts in the span of the last 24 hours.

Out of about 1,38,271 samples tested, as many as 7 tested positive for coronavirus. The Fresh cases have declined by more than 99 percent from their peak which was 38,055 on April 24.

As Covid Recovery Rate in Uttar Pradesh steadily follows an upward graph, the state on Tuesday recorded the Recovery Rate at a remarkable 98.8 percent. As many as 10 patients recovered in the span of the last 24 hours. The state has so far recorded the recovery of over 16,87,165 people.

Even as Uttar Pradesh’s active cases continue to hover around the 100-mark, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure that everyone coming to UP from other states and abroad is tested for Covid-19. This includes ensuring that those coming especially from abroad or states like Kerala and Maharashtra are carrying negative Covid-19 reports.

Over 67 percent partially vaccinated in UP

Uttar Pradesh has given out over 13.18 crore vaccine doses so far and that is no small achievement. The impressive pace of COVID vaccination has made Uttar Pradesh ‘the top state’ with the largest population in the country.

In addition, the state has also achieved the landmark of administering the first dose of the covid-19 vaccine to over 67 percent of the eligible adult population. Over 3.32 crore people in the state have been fully vaccinated.

After successfully administering the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine rapidly, the government is also working at a war-footing to improve the second dose coverage in the state.

Giving priority to the full vaccination, the work of applying the second dose using the cluster model 2.0 is being done in those villages/localities where the first dose was successfully administered through the cluster model.

UP has set an example in front of other states of the country, besides controlling the infection in a short time. On the other hand, Maharashtra lags with 9.85 crore doses delivered so far.

Government stays alert to check Zika virus
