Philips has entered into a strategic collaboration with Cent to advance preventive diagnostics and early risk detection in India. The partnership brings together Philips’ advanced imaging technologies and Cent’s preventive health screening model to explore new approaches for identifying health risks before symptoms appear.

As part of the collaboration, Philips will deploy its helium-free, wide-bore 70 cm 1.5T MRI systems equipped with AI-enabled SmartSpeed image acceleration at Cent’s preventive health screening centres. The technology is expected to support high-quality imaging, improve the screening experience and enable more efficient MRI workflows.

The initiative will focus on evaluating imaging protocols, clinical workflows and risk-assessment pathways for asymptomatic individuals. The collaboration will particularly explore neurological, spine and oncology-related indications, with the aim of strengthening approaches to early risk identification and timely intervention.

Bharath Sesha, Managing Director, Philips Indian Subcontinent, said that meaningful innovation can help shift healthcare from treatment towards prevention and early intervention. He highlighted the potential of advanced imaging and AI-enabled solutions to support earlier identification of health risks, improve diagnostic confidence and enhance patient experiences.

Anshul Khandelwal, Co-Founder, Cent, said the company is focused on advancing AI-led research to make preventive screening more precise, scalable and effective for asymptomatic individuals. He emphasised the need for new imaging protocols, clinical workflows and risk-assessment models specifically designed for preventive healthcare.

The collaboration comes as healthcare systems increasingly move from reactive disease management towards predictive and preventive care. By combining advanced MRI technology, AI-enabled imaging and preventive screening, Philips and Cent aim to develop scalable approaches that can support earlier detection and more proactive healthcare delivery in India.

The partnership is expected to contribute to the development of a more proactive and personalised healthcare model, where potential health risks can be identified earlier and appropriate medical intervention can be considered before conditions progress.
