Scottsdale Healthcare in the USA has been granted Accreditation with Commendation by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons for its cancer programme. According to the Chicago-based Commission on Cancer, Accreditation with Commendation is awarded to top cancer programmes that demonstrate the highest levels of cancer clinical services, research, community outreach, quality improvement, leadership and data management. Scottsdale Healthcare’s cancer programme accreditation ensures that patients with cancer will have access to comprehensive care including state-of-the-art services and equipment, access to cancer-related information, education and support, ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options. Scottsdale Healthcare also provides patients with a multispecialty team approach to coordinate the best treatment options, a cancer registry that collects data on cancer, treatment and results and offers life-long patient follow-up and ongoing monitoring and improvement of care and quality care closer to home. The three-year accreditation follows an on-site uation by a physician surveyor from the Commission on Cancer. Included in the accreditation are the Virginia G Piper Cancer Center at Scottsdale Healthcare, Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center and Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center.
