A new website was launched by State officials and transparency advocates in Minnesota. It allows residents to compare prices and quality for health services provided in the state. Patients can visit Minnesota Health Scores, managed by Minnesota Community Measurement, to compare various services offered by clinics and hospitals, and they can view the average price paid by health plans to each medical group.

The site was developed in conjunction with providers, health plans and the Minnesota Smart Buy Alliance, a public/private organization formed to boost consumer participation in healthcare quality and cost transparency efforts. As a part of the continuing process, more services and prices will be added on the website and the community measurement organization will track changes in provider prices over time.
