Wockhardt Hospitals has launched complex cardiac surgery initiative in Gujarat. Patients in Rajkot and Surat are being offered first class medical technology by the experts of the Hospital.

This was disclosed by a panel of senior doctors at a video conference connecting Ahmedabad, Baroda, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Rajkot and Surat. Dr. Vivek Jawali said that the hospital was first to conduct awake heart surgery in India and they treated two patients in Rajkot.

Explaining the procedure he said that in this the patient remains conscious and a little hole in the chest region is all that is performed on the patient’s body for the complex operation. With such an initiative, a patient in a II tier city gets the benefit of the world class treatment in his own city.

In Rajkot The Hospital has tied up with Virani Hospital. There are also arrangements of financial help to the patients to help them get cheaper treatment.

The hospital has developed path-breaking procedures, be it the first-ever Conscious Off Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery and Awake Heart Surgery in India.
