The telemedicine suite at Bristol Children’s Hospital, Bristol, is using Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) phone line technology, which allows doctors to diagnose heart defects in unborn babies who are hundreds of miles far away. Specialist consultants of one hospital will be able to diagnose unborn babies or critical ill children born in a different hospital. The suite is equipped with video conferencing, and also useful for e- Learning with training lectures and seminars being broadcast from Bristol paediatric centres in the entire country.
