HCG Cancer Centre in Nagpur, in its ongoing mission to deliver top-tier, personalised cancer treatments equipped with the latest technology, introduced an exclusive home healthcare service for cancer patients on 18th October 2023. The inauguration was graced by the presence of Venkateshwarlu Marapaka, the Cluster Business Head & COO; Dr Ajay Mehta, Director & Head of Surgical Oncology; and Hitesh Singh, Director of Bharti Meditech.

Coinciding with October, the breast cancer awareness month, the centre also rolled out a novel portable breast cancer screening device, EVA-Braster Pro.

Speaking to the press, Venkateshwarlu Marapaka, Cluster Business Head & COO of HCG Nagpur, emphasised the growing importance of home health in the healthcare landscape. He highlighted that research indicates patients recuperating from ailments, injuries, or surgeries recover more efficiently in their homes. This mode of care not only ensures professional services but also offers the tranquillity and intimacy of one’s home, along with the presence of family.

Dr Ajay Mehta further elaborated that HCG’s home health initiative aims to deliver top-notch care within the patient’s residence. The approach intends to cater to patients’ unique needs, ensuring a heightened sense of security, dignity, and autonomy.

In its initial phase, HCG’s home health services will encompass long-term and short-term nursing care, screenings for breast, cervical, and oral cancer using HCG’s distinct portable devices, and at-home lab tests and diagnostics. Additional facilities will include home sample collection and medicine delivery. In its subsequent phase, the services will expand to offer expert caregivers, pain management solutions, rehabilitation programmes, and home visits by physicians.
