FUJIFILM India has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Digital Radiology (DR) X-Ray facility at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Dholera, Gujarat, as part of its ongoing CSR commitment to enhance public healthcare infrastructure. The launch, attended by Shri Kadubhai Rupabhai Dabhi, MLA of Dhandhuka, Dr. R. B. Kapadiya, CDHO, Ahmedabad, and Mr. Koji Wada, Managing Director, FUJIFILM India, marks the first central DR X-Ray hub in the region, offering advanced diagnostic services to the city’s industrial workforce and 33 surrounding villages.

Bridging Healthcare Gaps Amid Rapid Industrialisation

Dholera is emerging as a smart industrial city with mega projects including a solar park, expressway, freight rail, and proposed semiconductor plants. Rapid industrial growth has outpaced the expansion of public healthcare facilities, creating urgent diagnostic needs. The new DR X-Ray facility addresses this gap, enabling quick and reliable imaging services for workers, engineers, and residents while supporting preventive health initiatives.

Integrated Preventive Care

Beyond X-Ray diagnostics, the CHC will host tuberculosis (TB) screening through sputum collection and conduct regular preventive health camps. This integration of diagnostic and preventive services ensures that public health keeps pace with industrial and urban development, reducing travel barriers and promoting early detection of health risks.

Industry Perspective

Koji Wada, Managing Director, FUJIFILM India said, “Our purpose goes beyond technology; it is about creating community impact. With this facility, we provide advanced diagnostics where they are needed most, supporting the health of workers and residents as Dholera grows into a global manufacturing hub.”

Abhi Shekhar Singh, Vertical Head, Corporate Communications & CSR added, “Building on our success with the 100-day intensified TB elimination campaign in Gujarat, the Fujifilm Medical Centre in Dholera exemplifies long-term commitment to strengthening CHCs with cutting-edge DR technology. Residents within a 50 km radius now have access to essential imaging services without long travel.”

Implications for the Healthcare Industry

For industry stakeholders — hospitals, diagnostics providers, insurers, and public health planners — the initiative highlights:

  • The critical role of private-sector collaboration in expanding diagnostic infrastructure.
  • Opportunities for preventive healthcare integration in industrial and smart city ecosystems.
  • The potential for CSR-driven health innovation to enhance public health access and support government initiatives, such as TB elimination campaigns.
