Ayushman Bharat - Health and Wellness Centers

Health Melas will be held on the 14th of every month in 1.56 lakh Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Centers (AB-HWC) across the nation as part of the current “Swastha Mann, Swastha Ghar” campaign, which began last year to raise awareness about healthy living. These nationwide health melas will include exercises like yoga, zumba, teleconsultation, the Nikshay Poshan Abhiyan, screening for non-communicable diseases and drug distribution, and screening for sickle cell disease.

A cycle event will be held on February 14, 2023, at all AB-HWCs to promote and raise awareness of physical and mental well-being as well as environmentally responsible transportation. This event may take the shape of a cycleathon, cycle rally, or cycle for health.

In Delhi, a Cyclathon will be organised with the theme, ‘Cycle for Health’ at Lady Hardinge Medical College. An area in the premises of the hospital will be dedicated as a Cycle Stand.

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, asked all residents to take part in the massive cycling event at their local AB-HWC in a shout-out to all health and cycling lovers.

Dr Mansukh Mandaviya stated, “Cycling is one of the best ways to keep our body healthy, fit & active.” He further added, “Ride as much or as little, as long or as short as you feel, but ride!”

“Swastha Mann, Swastha Ghar” is a year-long campaign from November 2022 to October 2023. To honour the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” it will promote the subject of health and wellness (AKAM). This is in keeping with the new National Health Policy of 2017, which emphasises preventative and promotional healthcare, and the Fit India Movement of 2019, which strives to make fitness and healthy living an intrinsic part of our daily life.
