In a significant achievement, India’s cumulative vaccination coverage has crossed 67 crores landmark today. With the administration of 74,84,333 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, the country’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 67.09 Cr (67,09,59,968) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 70,34,846 sessions, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said.

“The union government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of the Covid-19 vaccination throughout the country,” it added. The recovery of 34,791 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,20,63,616. Consequently, the country’s recovery rate stands at 97.45%. “Sustained and collaborative efforts by the centre and the states and UTs continue the trend of less than 50,000 daily new cases that are being reported for 68 consecutive days now; 45,352 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours,” MoHFW further added.

According to the union health ministry, the testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of 16,66,334 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 52.65 Cr (52,65,35,068) cumulative tests. While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, the weekly positivity rate is at 2.66%, less than 3% for the last 70 days now. The daily Positivity rate stands at 2.72%. The daily positivity rate has remained below 5% for 88 consecutive days now, it stated.
