35,178 New Cases

India recorded 35,178 new cases of the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The country’s active cases comprise 1.14 % of the total cases, its lowest since March 2020; and active caseload is 3,67,415, its lowest in 148 days, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said.

As per MoHFW statement, the weekly positivity rate is 1.95 %, lowest in 148 days. The daily positivity rate is 1.96%, less than 3% for the last 23 days. The country saw 3,14,85,923 recoveries across the country so far as 37,169 patients recovered during the past 24 hours; the recovery rate currently is 97.52%.


The country’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage crossed 56 crore landmark yesterday. Cumulatively, MoHFW added, 56,06,52,030 vaccine doses have been administered through 62,67,149 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am today as 55,05,075 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours. The new phase of universalisation of the Covid-19 vaccination has commenced on 21 June this year. The government is seen to be committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of the Covid-19 vaccination throughout the country.

With “substantially” ramped up testing capacity across the country, the health ministry also informed that 17,97,559 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in India. Cumulatively, the country has conducted 49,84,27,083 tests until now.
