30,941 New Cases in India

India has recorded 30,941 fresh cases of the Covid-19 pandemic in the last 24 hours, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). The country’s active caseload stands at 3,70,640 and active cases account for 1.13% of total cases, it added.

The country registered 36,275 recoveries in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries to 3,19,59,680. The recovery rate currently is 97.53%. The weekly positivity rate is 2.51%, less than 3% for the last 67 days; and the daily positivity rate reported to be 2.22%, MoHFW also said.


India’s cumulative vaccination coverage crossed the 64 crore landmark yesterday. With the administration of 59,62,286 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, its Covid-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 64.05 cr as per provisional reports till 7 am today, the ministry also informed, adding that this has been achieved through 68,50,464 sessions. Also, India has conducted 52.15 crores test until now.

On the Covid-19 vaccine availability in states and union territories, MoHFW said that more than 64.36 crore vaccine doses have been provided to states and UTs so far through the Government of India’s free of cost channel and direct state procurement category. Further, nearly 15 lakh doses are in the pipeline. More than 5.42 crore are balance and unutilised Covid vaccine doses are still available with the states and UTs to be administered.
