India reported 43,733 new cases in the last 24 hours. The country’s active caseload declined to 4,59,920. Its active cases constituted 1.5% of total cases, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). It recorded 34,703 new cases on Tuesday.
The country registered 2,97,99,534 recoveries until now as 47,240 patients recovered during last 24 hours. The daily recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 55th consecutive day. Also, the recovery rate increased to 97.18%, MoHFW added.
The weekly positivity rate remained below 5% as it stood at 2.39%, and the daily positivity rate is at 2.29%, less than 3% for 16 consecutive days, it also said.
India administered 36.13 crore vaccine doses so far under the nationwide vaccination drive. The country’s testing capacity, MoHFW, said has been “substantially” ramped up as it conducted 42.33 crore tests.
