How Fujifilm India is introducing innovative imaging technologies to the country in its attempt to transform India’s healthcare sector, writes Fujifilm India Pvt Ltd’s, Sr Vice President, Chander Shekhar Sibal.

The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting all of our families, businesses, communities, and way of life. The overall healthcare industry is undergoing a paradigm shift, evolving from a human-driven to a technology-enabled sector. This digital transformation and the ongoing pandemic is bringing a change in the way doctors and patients are interacting.

Being a pioneer in imaging technologies, it is our constant endeavour to ‘Never Stop’ providing the latest innovative technologies and solutions that not only enhance image quality and workflow but also, focus on the patient’s overall well-being. However, keeping in mind the growing challenges that a hospital faces daily in managing radiology imaging services, we have introduced medical services to improve the diagnostic market and empower the medical imaging information across the entire healthcare enterprise.

Recently, we unveiled two very unique innovations the FDR Nano and the FDR Xair. The revolutionary FDR Nano provides the much-needed ease to the healthcare professionals, with the option of various movements such as intuitive arm handling and free spin and slide, virtual grid software which helps decrease the image contrast resulting in high-resolution images, noise cancellation circuit, and energy saving. It is revolutionary machinery designed to help reduce the burden on medical practitioners.

The FDR Xair on the other hand is supported by Fujifilm’s advanced image processing and detector technology which offers instant, portable handy screening of Tuberculosis at any remote location. The equipment is designed in a way that the patient feels less intimidated by the prospect of an X-ray, more so, provides the feasibility of being used from the comfort of one’s home.

We have also announced the launch of X-ray solutions augmented with qXR, Qure.ai’s computed aided radiology software application designed with deep-learning Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, which helps in detecting abnormal findings within seconds. We have designed our portable X-ray FDR Xair system, which will come equipped with a new image-processing box called Expansion Unit EX-Mobile that allows connecting with the qXR software. The same type of image processing kit is integrated into our compact digital X-ray cart FDR nano as well and it provides the operating environment to install qXR software.

We have designed a vast portfolio of products to choose from, which includes mammography machines, endoscopy systems, digital radiography systems, retrofit detectors, mobile X-ray machines, local X-ray machines, IVD and healthcare IT synapse. This also comprises the company’s new Artificial Intelligence-powered diagnostic solution REiLI that can really help radiologists in India with their imaging workflow.

As our strength lies in the fact that we have always been an imaging technology company, we are committed to enhancing the healthcare scenario in India with innovative technologies.
