It has witnessed tremendous progress in Niti Aayog report of health index along with Haryana,” said Dr Vinod K Paul, Member, NITI Aayog, and Government of India while delivering speech at Healthcare Summit Jharkhand in Ranchi on Thursday.

The Summit, organised by the Department of Health, Medical Education & Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand along with Elets Technomedia witnessed confluence of dignitaries including Raghubar Das, Chief Minister of Jharkhand; Ramchandra Chandravanshi, Health Minister, Government of Jharkhand; and Dr Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Secretary, Department of Health, Medical Education & Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand, international experts, and industry experts.

The objective of the conclave was to deliberate on best healthcare practices and explore all possible ways to boost healthcare delivery system of Jharkhand.

Delivering speech on the occasion, Dr Paul underscored the Government intention to provide accessible and affordable care to each and every citizen of India. “Ayushman has bridged the gap between public and private sector. There is a need of single window clearance for private investment,” he said.

Allaying fear of a section of people who are opposing the NMC Bill, he said: “There is no bridge course of Ayush in NMC Bill. Mid level providers will be above nurses and below the MBBS doctors. Midlevel providers will be augmenting doctors community to improve delivery of care in remote areas. The Bill will not encourage quacks at all. It is being practiced in European countries.”

Delivering speech on this occasion, Chief Minister of Jharkhand Raghubar Das said: “Our State has witnessed progress on IMR, NMR. We will have 2 crore 57 lakh golden cards on the first anniversary of Ayushman Bharat.”

The experts pondered on various prominent issues influencing the healthcare sector of the State. The exercise chalked out ways to leverage modern-day technological advancements, latest innovative practices, and PPP models to augment healthcare delivery process, enabling accessible and affordable care to masses.

The theme of the summit was ‘Taking Jharkhand – Gearing Up For Better Healthcare – Taking Healthcare Delivery to the last mile’ where policymakers and luminaries deliberated upon best practices being leveraged to provide better care.

A series of panel discussion covering various aspects of wellness and holistic care was organised where healthcare stalwarts shared their experience.
