The Ministry of AYUSH will organise a one-day national seminar on “Prevention and Control of Diabetes through Ayurveda” in New Delhi on October 28 as part of the National Ayurveda Day celebrations, the ministry said in a statement on Thursday.The Minister of State (Independent Charge) PMO, DoNER, DOPT, Dr. Jitender Singh will inaugurate the seminar and Minister of AYUSH (Independent Charge) Shripad Yesso Naik will preside over the seminar.
The Ministry of AYUSH will also launch “Mission Madhumeha through Ayurveda†on the occasion, which will be implemented throughout the country via a specially-designed “National Treatment Protocol” for effective management of diabetes through Ayurveda.
The Protocol will be released during the seminar.
The Ministry of AYUSH has also asked various state governments, state AYUSH directorates, ayurveda educational institutes and pharma to organise public lectures, seminars and exhibitions on how to prevent and control diabetes through ayurveda.
The Central government has decided to celebrate National Ayurveda Day every year on the occasion of Dhanwantari Jayanti.
