Centre for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) has come up with a new surveillance system to track adverse events in patients who receive blood transfusions. The Hemovigilance Module part of CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network is an Internet-based surveillance system that allows CDC and health care providers to track and analyze health care-related infection information. CDC developed the system with AABB, an international organization for stakeholders involved in transfusion and cellular therapies.
