Samsung India, in partnership with its medical imaging subsidiary NeuroLogica, has launched a new portfolio of mobile CT scanners in the country, aiming to transform patient-centric imaging and strengthen hospital infrastructure across urban and regional centres.
The newly introduced range—CereTom® Elite, OmniTom® Elite, OmniTom® Elite PCD, and BodyTom® 32/64—brings a combination of mobility, AI-driven efficiency, and patient-first design, enabling hospitals to conduct advanced imaging at the bedside. By reducing the need for patient transfers and enabling rapid interventions in critical care settings, the solutions are designed to enhance both clinical safety and decision-making speed.
Bridging Gaps in Imaging Access
Speaking on the launch, Atantra Das Gupta, Head of HME Business, Samsung India, said, “The mobile CT portfolio is not just about technology—it is about empowering healthcare providers to bridge the gap between metros and tier-2/3 cities. These solutions will play a pivotal role in improving access to advanced imaging, strengthening healthcare infrastructure, and ultimately improving patient outcomes across India.”
The portfolio is designed for diverse clinical applications, including neuro-ICU monitoring, emergency trauma care, intraoperative imaging in neurosurgery, oncology planning, interventional radiology, and pediatric diagnostics. The mobility and AI integration also allow hospitals to expand capacity without major infrastructural investments.
Key Features of the Portfolio
- CereTom® Elite: Compact 8-slice CT with a 32cm patient opening, optimised for bedside imaging with 2-hour battery support.
- OmniTom® Elite: Delivers ultra-high resolution (0.125mm x 80 slice) scans, enhancing neurosurgical workflows. Enables intraoperative scans for immediate complication detection, significantly reducing revision surgeries.
- OmniTom® Elite PCD: Integrates photon counting detector (PCD) technology for superior image quality, enhanced tissue differentiation, and artefact reduction.
- BodyTom® 32/64: A 32/64-slice full-body scanner with an 85cm opening, offering comprehensive imaging capacity with extended battery life.
The systems also support AI-assisted imaging and integrate seamlessly with hospital PACS and EMR systems, streamlining diagnostic workflows and supporting India’s ongoing digital health transformation initiatives.
Expanding Clinical Value
From stroke management in emergency medicine to tumour resection in oncology and brachytherapy planning, the portfolio provides imaging solutions tailored to multiple specialities. In paediatrics, the compact, safe, and rapid design addresses unique requirements for neonates and children.
