Nine multi-specialty hospitals and medical colleges are going to be set up on vacant railway land in West Bengal. The railway minister Miss Mamta Banerjee has also ensured around nine second-level medical units with 100-bed hospitals to be established in West Bengal. This is part of the MoU the health ministry has signed with the ministry of railways. They plan to jointly set up around 500 healthcare facilities
