Perot Systems Corporation today announced that the company has been selected by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) to represent AAPC in South India, including Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad.

Under terms of the agreement, Perot Systems will conduct exams for the Certified Professional Coders (CPC(TM)), Certified Professional Coders- Hospital (CPC-H(TM)), Certified Professional Coders — Payer (CPC-P(TM)) credentials.

“We selected Perot Systems because of the strength of their team. This is a knowledgeable team of coding specialists who brings both tremendous real-world experience as well as ambitious goals for providing new and enhanced education and services. The information security and compliance practices that we saw during our visit provide us assurance that we have found a reliable and trusted provider,” said Reed E. Pew, president and CEO of the American Academy of Professional Coders.

“We are delighted at this as it would provide us opportunities not just to certify the coding specialists in the South India region, but also create alternative, meaningful career options for life-sciences graduates everywhere. We are also working with AAPC on an American rural coding initiative to serve coders in rural parts of the USA. Service providers with delivery centers in South India will now be able to pursue new business opportunities in medical coding actively,” said Shaji Ravi, head of account management and production, Physician Billing Services, Insurance and Business Process Solutions (IBPS) India.
