Giving the paramount importance to the safety and welfare of travelers, Virgin Atlantic Aircrafts will introduce the telemedicine device Tempus, which is designed for use by non-medical experts during the medical emergency in the aircrafts. The airline has signed a deal to fit equipment in all Virgin Atlantic aircrafts by 2009. This airline has used the Medlink for many years, with introduction of Tempus’ advanced technology; it will increase the onboard medical provision. Tempus uses the satellite techonology, which operates its aircraft onboard telephone system to transmit medical information as well as video images to medical experts at the MedAire Centre in Phoenix, Arizona.
