Lantern Pharma

Lantern Pharma Inc. has announced the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center of Excellence and Advanced Agentic Labs in Bengaluru, reinforcing India’s growing role in the global biopharma innovation ecosystem. The new facility will act as a strategic scale-up hub for Lantern’s proprietary RADR® (Response Algorithm for Drug Repositioning) platform, supporting increasing engagement with pharmaceutical and academic partners worldwide.

According to the company, the Bengaluru center will focus on industrialising RADR® by strengthening large-scale data engineering, building machine learning–ready disease models, and enabling deeper integration with global biopharma collaborators. Designed as a cloud-native environment, the facility will support advanced model training, validation, and deployment, enabling continuous, “follow-the-sun” development cycles across geographies.

RADR® currently leverages hundreds of billions of oncology-specific data points combined with curated disease models and machine learning algorithms to accelerate drug discovery and development. The new center is expected to significantly enhance these capabilities, including the advancement of Lantern’s specialised large language models and quantitative AI models for molecular evaluation, optimisation, and generation across multiple therapeutic areas.

The expansion will be implemented in two phases. In the initial phase, Lantern will scale AI-driven oncology programmes, with a focus on multi-agentic systems for biomarker discovery, predictive modelling, and clinical trial optimisation. These efforts build on Lantern’s existing oncology pipeline, which includes three clinical-stage assets, as well as its CNS-focused subsidiary, Starlight Therapeutics.

The second phase will broaden the application of RADR® beyond oncology into inflammation, immunology, and neurodegenerative disorders. This phase is expected to support revenue-generating collaborations with biopharma companies across the US, Europe, and Japan, while enabling the development of disease-specific AI modules targeting conditions such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Lantern Pharma has already initiated hiring in Bengaluru, with plans to onboard AI engineers, data scientists, computational biologists, and machine learning specialists. The company indicated that the expansion is expected to remain cash-flow neutral, with initial operational impact projected in the first quarter of 2026. The India-based teams will work in close coordination with Lantern’s US operations to accelerate development timelines and global deployment.

In a separate announcement, Lantern Pharma revealed plans to host an Investor and Analyst Day in New York City on January 22, 2026. During the event, the company will showcase elements of the expanded RADR® platform and present its roadmap for the industrialisation of AI-driven drug development.

The Bengaluru initiative underscores the increasing convergence of AI, data science, and biopharma R&D, positioning Lantern Pharma to scale its computational drug development capabilities while tapping into India’s deep talent pool in advanced digital and life sciences.
