In a major boost to surgical education and capacity building, Max Healthcare has joined forces with Medtronic India to launch the Max-Medtronic Skill Lab at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket. The new centre aims to serve as a cutting-edge training hub for surgeons and allied healthcare professionals across the country, with a special focus on laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Positioned as a first-of-its-kind collaborative initiative, the lab is designed to bridge critical skill gaps by offering comprehensive, hands-on learning modules for surgeons, nurses, OT technicians, and paramedics. These structured programs will cover both foundational and advanced aspects of minimally invasive surgery, leveraging Max Healthcare’s clinical expertise and Medtronic’s technological leadership.

“The Max-Medtronic Skill Lab represents our commitment to continuous learning and clinical excellence. By creating a structured, high-impact training ecosystem, we hope to strengthen competencies within surgical teams and also enhance awareness among patients about the benefits of advanced surgical procedures,” said Dr Sandeep Budhiraja, Group Medical Director, Max Healthcare.

Highlighting Medtronic’s role in the initiative, Mandeep Singh Kumar, Managing Director and Vice President of Medtronic India, added, “This collaboration underscores our focus on enabling access to high-quality healthcare through innovation and education. The Skill Lab will equip healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge required to deliver superior patient outcomes.”

Alongside clinical training, the facility will also host educational sessions aimed at informing patients and caregivers about the advantages of minimally invasive surgery—such as shorter recovery times, smaller incisions, and reduced post-operative complications—thereby fostering informed decision-making.
