LISSUN, a leading mental wellness platform, has acquired US-based startup Being Cares Inc., marking a significant milestone in its mission to provide AI-driven, family-centric care solutions. The move strategically combines LISSUN’s clinical expertise with Being’s proprietary technology that decodes over 40 behavioural and emotional conditions, setting the foundation for a robust, child-first mental healthcare model in India.

Being Cares, known for developing the “Google Maps of Mental Health,” has received global recognition, including Google’s “Best App for Good.” With nearly a million users served, the company brings with it a powerful AI engine that maps over 2,500 behavioural triggers and outcomes—now being reoriented by LISSUN to address complex child development challenges such as autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, speech delays, and learning difficulties.

As part of the acquisition, Being’s leadership team has joined LISSUN. Varun Gandhi, Co-founder & CEO of Being Cares, is now LISSUN’s Chief Product Officer, and Abhishek Sharma, Co-founder & CTO of Being Cares, takes over as LISSUN’s Chief Technology Officer. Their integration into the leadership bench is expected to accelerate LISSUN’s evolution from a digital therapy platform to a comprehensive, tech-enabled behavioural health ecosystem.

AI-Powered Continuum of Care

LISSUN’s newly integrated system combines therapist-led intervention with AI-driven mapping, enabling hyper-personalised guidance for both children and parents. The upgraded platform offers an end-to-end mental health journey—from early screening and digital counselling to in-person therapy sessions via LISSUN’s Sunshine Centres.

“By bringing together Being’s intelligent mental health technology and our therapist network, we’re reimagining how families in India experience mental healthcare,” said Tarun Gupta, Co-founder & COO of LISSUN. “This is not just a product enhancement—it’s a systemic shift. From the first signs of behavioural concern to long-term developmental support, we are creating a continuum of care that is digital, deeply empathetic, and clinically sound.”

The acquisition will also enhance the capabilities of Ray, LISSUN’s AI-based assistant, enabling dynamic support across platforms such as WhatsApp. Parents will now have access to real-time updates, customised therapeutic activities, and developmental milestone tracking, offering a clear departure from conventional one-size-fits-all approaches.

Scalability and Strategic Vision

LISSUN plans to scale its Sunshine Centres from 20 to over 200 locations within the next 2–4 years, deepening its presence across schools, homes, and clinics. The integrated model will allow families to access timely interventions, reduce the time from diagnosis to action, and enhance the quality of care delivery—key parameters for B2B stakeholders, including hospitals, therapy networks, and edtech providers.

Commenting on the partnership, Varun Gandhi stated, “With LISSUN, we’re bringing together infrastructure, empathy, and AI to ensure no family is left behind. Our vision has always been to use technology to amplify human care, and this partnership allows us to scale that vision responsibly and impactfully.”

Collaborative Growth in the Mental Health Sector

While this acquisition is a focused strategic move, LISSUN has expressed openness to further collaboration with emerging startups in the mental health space. “The scale of the mental health challenge demands collective innovation,” Gupta added. “We are keen to support mission-aligned entrepreneurs building impactful solutions for families.”

This development positions LISSUN as a frontrunner in the integration of AI and human-led therapy in India’s behavioural health landscape, offering immense partnership opportunities for healthcare institutions, school systems, and digital health platforms seeking scalable, evidence-based mental wellbeing solutions.
