Apollo Hospitals has launched Amazon Alexa Skill-Ask Apollo, a voice-based app, to enable users to book an appointment with doctors of their choice at 72 hospitals across country in hassle-free manner. It will also guide users to find the nearest hospital, clinic or pharmacy run by the group, through simple voice command.
Once enabled, the app would allow users to interact with Apollo Hospitals using voice commands on all Echo range of devices.

To avail facilities, users can simply say, “Alexa, open Apollo”, “Alexa, ask Apollo to find me a doctor for consultation”, “Alexa, ask Apollo to book an appointment”, “Alexa, ask Apollo to find me a surgeon”, and “Alexa, ask Apollo to book an appointment with Family Physician”

Responding to the development, Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals Group, was quoted by the Business Standard as saying, “Mass adoption of artificial intelligence by people has fuelled the shift towards voice applications. IoT devices have given voice assistants greater utility in a connected user’s life. With our Alexa skill, Apollo Hospitals has become the first and largest healthcare group in India to power voice-assisted hospital search and appointment booking. We will be adding more features to the skill in the near future.”
