In a landmark move to enhance patient-centered care, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar has launched an innovative QR-based feedback system at Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital. The initiative, unveiled under the leadership of Principal/Dean Prof. Dr. Iffat Hassan, is set to transform how patients and their attendants communicate their experiences and suggestions, paving the way for transparent and efficient healthcare delivery.
Transforming Patient Feedback into Action
The QR-based feedback system provides a simple and secure platform for patients and their families to share insights about their experiences. By scanning QR codes placed across key hospital locations, such as outpatient departments, wards, and reception areas, users can submit feedback anonymously or with contact details. The system ensures timely review and action, enabling the hospital to address grievances, recognize positive contributions, and improve service delivery.
Prof. Dr. Iffat Hassan underscored the importance of patient feedback in driving institutional progress, stating,
“This milestone initiative reflects our commitment to leveraging technology to provide patient-centered care. Understanding patient needs and addressing their concerns effectively is at the core of this effort.”
A Collaborative Leap Forward
The system’s development and implementation were spearheaded by GMC’s IT Section, with support from the hospital administration. Key stakeholders, including Administrator Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, HOD Urology Prof. Dr. Sajad Nazir, and Medical Superintendent Dr. Tasneem, highlighted the feedback platform’s role in promoting transparency, accountability, and collaborative healthcare management.
Mohammad Ashraf Hakak lauded the initiative, saying,
“This user-friendly system bridges the gap between patients and administration, creating a direct communication channel that fosters trust and ensures swift action on feedback.”

Aligning Technology with Excellence in Healthcare
The launch aligns with SMHS Hospital’s vision to remain at the forefront of excellence in patient care. By integrating patient feedback into decision-making, the hospital is setting a benchmark for operational efficiency and satisfaction. The system aims to address both positive and constructive feedback in a time-bound manner, ensuring continuous adaptation to patient needs.
This cutting-edge initiative positions SMHS Hospital as a leader in adopting digital transformation to improve healthcare outcomes. It also serves as a model for other institutions in India’s healthcare sector to harness technology for better service delivery and patient engagement.
