Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Inc., USA has announced the launch of Vancomycin Hydrochloride for Injection USP in 500 mg/vial and 1 g/vial strengths in the United States, further expanding its injectable portfolio in the North American market.

The newly launched product is bioequivalent and therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug, Vancomycin Hydrochloride for Injection USP by Fresenius Kabi USA, LLC. The antibiotic injection is widely used in the treatment of serious bacterial infections and represents another addition to Glenmark’s growing portfolio of affordable generic medicines.

According to IQVIA sales data for the 12-month period ending March 2026, the Vancomycin Hydrochloride for Injection market generated annual sales of approximately US$37.9 million, highlighting a significant opportunity within the injectable antibiotics segment.

Commenting on the development, Marc Kikuchi, President and Business Head – North America at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, stated that the launch reflects the company’s continued commitment to improving access to quality and affordable medicines in the U.S. market. He added that the introduction of the product further strengthens Glenmark’s injectable business while supporting healthcare providers and patients with reliable treatment options.

The launch aligns with Glenmark’s broader strategy of expanding its presence in the regulated U.S. generics and injectables market. Over the past few years, the company has continued to focus on diversifying its product pipeline across complex generics, specialty products, and injectable therapies to strengthen its competitive position globally.

Vancomycin Hydrochloride for Injection USP launched by Glenmark is approved only for the indications listed in the company’s approved label. The market data referenced includes brand products and all available therapeutic equivalents in the segment.
