Oracle Health is gearing up to launch a cutting-edge electronic health record (EHR) platform in 2025, aiming to transform the healthcare landscape with the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced data analytics. This innovative platform will combine Oracle’s clinical AI agent and voice-activated features with its Health Data Intelligence (HDI) system to enhance workflows for healthcare professionals.
The upcoming EHR platform is expected to move beyond traditional record-keeping approaches, evolving into a proactive system that encourages improved patient outcomes. Seema Verma, Executive Vice President and General Manager at Oracle Health and Life Sciences, stated that this initiative is a significant shift from the typical “one-size-fits-all” model. She remarked, “This will no longer just be a record-keeping tool; it will be a dynamic system of intelligence that drives actions.”
A key aspect of this new platform will be its capability for healthcare providers to tailor workflows according to their specific needs, thereby supporting a transition to precision health and value-based care. Verma likened the integrated AI clinical assistant to “a doctor’s best resident,” highlighting its potential to boost efficiency for providers, administrators, and researchers.
Larry Ellison, Oracle’s Chairman and Chief Technology Officer, has previously discussed the company’s ongoing efforts to modernize Cerner’s Millennium system, which is being migrated to the cloud. This forthcoming EHR platform is not merely an update; it signifies a comprehensive, purpose-built solution designed to meet the demands of contemporary healthcare.
The AI features embedded in the new EHR aim to automate clinical processes and offer valuable insights. Verma explained, “Current EHRs enforce workflows that compel providers to deliver care in a standardized manner. Our new EHR will allow providers to create personalized workflows that can adapt to evolving needs.”

Additionally, the platform is set to bolster value-based care efforts by including an Oracle command center that enables customized care plans grounded in extensive patient insights from HDI’s longitudinal records. With data aggregated from over 300 sources, the platform aims to significantly enhance analytical capabilities and benchmarking for improved patient care.
Through these advancements, Oracle Health is poised to reshape the EHR landscape, paving the way for a more adaptive and effective healthcare system.
