The Healthy Indian Project (THIP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (ISLM) to develop evidence-based Digital Patient Education Programmes focused on Childhood Obesity and Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD).
Under the collaboration, ISLM will serve as the Knowledge Partner, providing scientific review and academic oversight, while THIP Academy, THIP’s digital Patient Education Platform, will develop the curriculum, create the learning experience and deliver the programmes through its self-paced online platform.
The programmes are designed as structured digital learning experiences rather than traditional patient information leaflets or awareness campaigns. Patients and caregivers will be able to access expert-led videos, interactive learning modules, assessments and practical guidance at their convenience.

The partnership comes as India faces a growing burden of obesity, diabetes, fatty liver disease, PCOD and other lifestyle-related disorders. Healthcare experts increasingly recognise that medicines alone may not be sufficient for long-term outcomes, with nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management and other behavioural interventions playing an important role alongside medical treatment.
Dr. Lakshmi Sundar, President, Indian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (ISLM), said the partnership would help extend evidence-based patient education beyond the clinic and make it accessible to people across the country.
Sudipta Sengupta, CEO, The Healthy Indian Project, said the collaboration reflects THIP’s belief that better-informed patients can make better health decisions. Through THIP Academy, the organisation is working with medical associations to transform scientific expertise into structured digital learning programmes.
The first programmes under the collaboration will focus on Childhood Obesity and PCOD, with additional Lifestyle Medicine programmes expected as the partnership expands into preventive and chronic disease care.

THIP has worked across health fact-checking, public health communication and digital patient education. Through THIP Academy, it has also partnered with medical associations to develop structured, doctor-led health literacy courses.
ISLM is India’s professional society dedicated to advancing evidence-based Lifestyle Medicine and promoting scientifically validated lifestyle interventions for the prevention and long-term management of chronic diseases.
