P. D. Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre has partnered with the State Transformation Commission, Government of Uttar Pradesh (STC-UP) to strengthen maternal and adolescent healthcare services across 35 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
The programme was launched in Lucknow on August 14, 2026, by Shri Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Minister of Medical Health & Family Welfare. As part of the initiative, a fully equipped Hinduja Mobile Health Unit was flagged off to take healthcare services closer to communities.
Mobile Health Unit to Support Last-Mile Healthcare

The mobile health unit will be supported by qualified clinical and technical teams and will provide services including point-of-care diagnostics, counselling and referral support.
STC-UP will assist with district-level coordination, administrative approvals and access to schools and community locations. This is expected to help integrate the programme with the existing state health system.
Focus on Mothers and Adolescents
The programme will focus on two major beneficiary groups.
Matrishakti will cover pregnant and lactating women under the Mukhyamantri Matritva Suraksha Sankalp Yojna, while Yuva will focus on adolescents aged 13 to 19 years studying in government and aided schools, as well as adolescents in community settings.
The initiative aims to improve access to screening, counselling, timely healthcare and awareness among these groups.
Brajesh Pathak Highlights Importance of Maternal Healthcare
Speaking at the launch, Shri Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Minister of Medical Health & Family Welfare, appreciated the initiative and the partnership with Hinduja Hospital.
He highlighted the importance of ensuring that mothers and children have timely access to essential healthcare services, particularly those related to maternal and childbirth care.
Pathak also welcomed the use of Mobile Health Units to take healthcare services to the last mile and said the Uttar Pradesh government would extend support to strengthen the initiative.
Part of ‘Saving Lives. Building a Healthier Bharat’
The Uttar Pradesh programme is part of P. D. Hinduja Hospital’s nationwide “Saving Lives. Building a Healthier Bharat” initiative.
The national programme was inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu on February 24, 2026, at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai, during the hospital’s 75th year celebrations.
Through the year-long initiative, the hospital aims to extend its healthcare expertise beyond its own facilities and support communities across India.
Ashok P. Hinduja Emphasises Community Healthcare
Shri Ashok P. Hinduja, Chairman, P. D. Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre, said the organisation’s 75th-year initiative was designed to take the experience and expertise of the hospital closer to communities across India.
He said the Uttar Pradesh partnership would complement the state’s existing healthcare infrastructure and efforts, particularly in strengthening care for mothers and adolescents.

The event was also attended by H.E. Harisoa Lalatiana Accouche, High Commissioner of Seychelles to India, as Guest of Honour.

Focus on Better Access to Healthcare
The partnership between P. D. Hinduja Hospital and the Government of Uttar Pradesh is aimed at improving access to healthcare services for women and adolescents, particularly through screening, early identification of health concerns, counselling and referrals.
With the deployment of the Mobile Health Unit and coordination across 35 districts, the programme seeks to bring preventive and supportive healthcare services closer to communities and contribute to stronger maternal and adolescent health outcomes in the state.
