Union Health Minister urges pharma companies

In a recent development, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, along with his responsibilities as the Minister in charge of Chemicals and Fertilizers, has called upon pharmaceutical companies to uphold the utmost levels of production quality. The call came during his assessment of the Good Manufacturing Practices and Compliance within the Pharma Industry.

During the review, Dr. Mandaviya emphasized the importance of reinforcing “Continuous Self Monitoring of Regulatory Compliance” among manufacturers. This, he believes, will significantly contribute to bolstering India’s global standing as a prominent pharmaceutical hub. The minister encouraged the industry to engage in self-assessment of their manufacturing processes and establish internal teams to conduct thorough inspections of their facilities. This step, he stressed, is crucial in maintaining the highest standards of production quality.

This move signifies a proactive approach by the Union Health Minister towards elevating the quality standards of the pharmaceutical sector, which holds immense significance in ensuring public health and global reputation.
