Union Health Minister addresses global healthcare event

Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya delivered a keynote address at the One Earth One Health Advantage Healthcare India event. The event was graced by the presence of dignitaries such as Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Ministry of AYUSH, Dr. Bharti Pravin Pawar, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Prof. S.P. Singh Bhagel, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, and other esteemed personalities.

Dr. Mandaviya praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary approach towards achieving Universal Health Coverage by blending the principles of Sarvodaya and Antyodaya. He highlighted India’s contributions to global and national healthcare, especially in primary and digital healthcare domains. During the event, the Health Minister launched two crucial digital platforms: ‘The Advantage Health Care India – One Stop Digital Portal For Patient’ and ‘Workforce Mobility’. He underlined the global significance of these portals, referring to them as milestones that propel healthcare innovation. These platforms, he noted, offer practical solutions to pressing healthcare challenges.


Discussing India’s healthcare ecosystem, Dr. Mandaviya cited the presence of 1.3 million allopathic doctors, 800,000 AYUSH doctors, and 3.4 million nurses and auxiliary nurse midwives. He envisioned an organised system of workforce mobility where Indian healthcare professionals extend their services globally, fostering knowledge-sharing and stronger partnerships. He emphasised that India aims to establish a people-centric healthcare system, transcending borders and ensuring equitable care for all.

During the event, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya held bilateral meetings with representatives from the European Union, Germany, and Saudi Arabia. The discussions encompassed collaborations in fortifying healthcare systems, regulatory requirements, joint ventures, technology transfer, and digital health promotion. The aim is to pave the way for healthier and more resilient healthcare systems globally.

The event saw the presence of industry officials, government representatives from various countries, and experts from diverse healthcare domains, underscoring the collective commitment towards building a stronger global healthcare landscape.
