While the twenty-first century is evolving with the help of technology, AI has helped technology to advance exponentially in terms of its potential for positive impact. AI is now the first choice in many industries when it comes to processing large amounts of complex data, solving complex problems, and even inventing new systems and machinery.

Today’s healthcare sector has progressed beyond simply receiving answers to complex questions from AI systems. For example, IBM WATSON has created an app that helps track sugar levels in the blood. It aids diabetic patients in maintaining a healthy blood sugar level through constant real-time blood sugar level monitoring. It can tell them how much sugar one should consume in a day. It can also provide a rough estimate of how blood sugar levels are changing.

Health concerns are on the rise, particularly since the emergence of COVID-19. From chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease to the risk of COVID, artificial technology can enhance workflow and results in many different domains.

The number of patients is rapidly rising, but there are not enough doctors to treat them. As a result, the healthcare system becomes less attentive and more expensive. In this scenario, healthcare bots provide quick, cost-effective, and efficient service.

Blood pressure monitoring, heart attack alerts, Covid self-assessment, heart rate & oxygen level monitoring, MRI analysis, organ failure detection, septic shock, and other healthcare AI bots are used in these cases.

It is established that AI tools can assist physicians and healthcare staff, but they cannot completely replace their work at this time. AI is capable of a wide range of jobs, such as diagnosis, disease prognosis, ongoing monitoring and analysis of the patient’s body parameters, drug formulation based on the patient’s genetics, administration-related duties, and clinical document management with the help of medical professionals. Healthcare AI is also accessible via mobile phones or computers. With the help of artificial intelligence, remote patient monitoring is now possible.

Machine learning is a subset of artificial intelligence that deals with prediction-based answers acquired from user data. Clinicians are already using this technology to evaluate and recommend a course of treatment for a whole range of cases.

Here are a few examples and application cases of AI and ML-based solutions that are revolutionising healthcare delivery and making the world a better place to live.

Artificial Intelligence And Robotic Surgery: The human body is full of surprises. The orientation of our body’s nerves and arteries varies infinitely. Long, extensive surgery can be challenging, even for a seasoned physician. AI is now assisting surgeons by producing

3D graphics and artificial imaging which is now also used for precise sutures and cutting.

Disease Diagnosis: Many new AI devices have been developed that can analyse patients’ parameters and detect complex diseases early (like cancer). It is also improving diagnostic accuracy. AI-powered systems are being used in cancer treatment and ML technologies are now recommending various treatment options. It is aiding clinicians in properly assessing the growth and spread of cancer through an AI-driven 3D imaging system.

New Drug Development: Developing a new drug takes a long time. It takes a lot of money and countless hours of human labour. Only a small number of these medications are deemed effective and gain FDA approval. Pharmaceutical companies have developed AIs that can predict drug efficacy, side effects, and success. AI-powered solutions can uncover the links between genes, drugs, and diseases. It can also suggest new mechanisms for drug development by correlating different diseases. Conducting chemical research and discovering functionally equivalent compounds with fewer side effects than the previous one.

Mobile Health: Many hospitals have used AI in the emergency department to treat cardiac heart failure.

A simple mobile app can remotely measure a patient’s heart rate. The AI bots ask simple set questions such as the time of pain, any physical activity before pain, and so on. It then assesses the situation and generates a report.

Future of Healthcare AI for Remote Patients: In the hectic world of the twenty-first century, all patients can’t visit the doctor regularly. This situation is more complicated for patients suffering from chronic illnesses or those who require extensive treatment or therapy. As a result, AI can play a significant role in handling remote patients and reducing the burden on the traditional healthcare system. It can track medical records, patient histories, compliance, adverse effects of drugs given to patients, and early detection of other conditions developing in the body. The health-care system will also be more accessible to rural areas! They will be able to receive specialised treatment from the comfort of their own home.

The potential of artificial intelligence in medical diagnosis is still being explored. There is a lot of space for development and advancement in the technology that supports the medical industry. AI is already being incorporated into practices and workflows as it is, and as it continues to develop, modify, and adapt, it will probably take the lead in providing the medical industry with a dependable set of tools that can help with diagnosis, workflow, administration, and workload.
