Ensuring quality healthcare through skilled human resources, the Yogi Adityanath government in the span of its first 100 days of the second tenure has already completed the recruitment of doctors and paramedical staff on about 3,007 posts out of 36,171 posts created by the state Medical Education Department.

The state government is working on a mission mode to complete the recruitment process for the remaining 33,164 posts. A total of 1,037 posts have been created in 13 State Nursing Colleges and 5 Autonomous State Medical Colleges. Against the target of increasing about 600 seats in MBBS in the state, a total of 1,350 seats have been increased. Whereas, 725 seats have been increased in postgraduate courses, 7,000 in nursing courses and 2,000 in paramedical courses.


So far, B.Sc. Nursing has been offered in three government nursing colleges in the state. In the current academic year, the B.Sc. Nursing course has been introduced in Government Medical Colleges Gorakhpur, Agra, Prayagraj, and Kannauj. Soon this course will be offered in 11 government and state autonomous medical colleges.

The process of recruitment of nurses, ward boys, and other staff has started in Phase 2 in about eight medical colleges. Along with this, an advertisement for 3,365 posts has been issued. For Nursing courses, the recruitment process is going on about 138 posts such as Principal, Vice Principal, Professors, Assistant Professors, among others.
