Even as the Covid cases are on a rise once again, there is some good news in stock for Uttar Pradesh. With nearly 90 percent of Uttar Pradesh’s eligible adult population now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the state is likely to achieve 100 percent full vaccination coverage of all eligible adults by the end of May.


Keeping the pace of vaccination in top gear, Uttar Pradesh has so far given out as many as 17,19,73,017 first doses of the vaccine, while over 14,14,22,815 individuals have been fully vaccinated.

The most populous state has so far given over 31,62,35,047 ‘Shots of Life’ (total doses) to people. In addition, the state has also achieved the landmark of administering the first dose of the covid-19 vaccine to 100 percent of the eligible adult population. Aggressive Vaccination is an integral part of the comprehensive strategy of the Yogi Adiityanath-led UP government to contain the pandemic, along with adherence to coronavirus- appropriate behaviour.

Among the districts which have completed the second dose coverage of the adults are Shahjahanpur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Sultanpur, Mainpuri, and Pratapgarh. Over 95.26 percent have received the second dose of the covid vaccine in the state capital Lucknow.


Strengthening its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, the Uttar Pradesh government is providing vaccination cover to all children between 12 to 17 years of age in a time-bound manner. So far, over 2,29,17,753 vaccine doses have been administered to children in the age group of 15-17 and over 61,04,591 vaccine doses have been administered to the children in the age group of 12-14 in the state.

Standing on the top, Uttar Pradesh is followed by Maharashtra with 16.53 crore total doses.
