Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet reshuffle, the Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has reportedly resigned on Wednesday.
Dr Harsh Vardhan’s resignation also comes at the time when the union, state, and union territory governments are managing the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has pressed the country’s healthcare infrastructure.
The cabinet reshuffle is scheduled to be held at Rashtrapati Bhawan at 6 pm on Wednesday. This will be the maiden reshuffle of PM Modi’s Council of Ministers since he was sworn in for his second term as the Prime Minister of India in May 2019. PM Modi is likely to induct more young faces, technocrats and give larger representation to SC, ST, OBCs, women, and regions in the cabinet reshuffle.
