There are many challenges still prevailing but certainly digital health services will accelerate and people will adopt it, says Dr Heera Lal, Additional Mission Director, National Health Mission, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

The health care services before and after Covid one thing I have observed is that there is patient on one side and healthcare providers our doctors, our infrastructure and our nurses etc. On other side during Covid all the healthcare services came at stand still all of sudden and in pandemic we had to supply our services along with following all the norms like wearing mask, social distancing so only solution was technology so Covid had forced us how to adopt and practice how to use digital health services so it accelerated the adoption of digital healthcare services on both the parts patients as well as our healthcare service providers and best part is that the adoption of digital healthcare services is more important for our doctors, nurses and staff so it is a good thing that Covid has given the acceleration, it has forced our healthcare service providers to practice how to use the digital healthcare services and this is a good sign with respect to digitization of health services but there are so many things, so many challenges because in smart cities parking whether it is done by physical parking or by digital parking it hardly matters but it is not applicable in the case of service, healthcare services when we meet a doctor face to face that is entirely give different impression than with the digital health services so there is an also a psychological effect as well in healthcare services as compare to other services. So there are many challenges still prevailing but certainly digital health services will accelerate and people will adopt it.
