Through the application of digital health technologies for consumers, health professionals, healthcare providers and industry are working towards empowering patients and achieving the vision of health for all says, Kiran Anandampillai, Advisor (Technology), National Health Authority (NHA), Government of India.

The National Digital Health Mission launched by the Prime Minister on 15th August, 2020, is being implemented by the National Health Authority, which provides digital building blocks for Health care. In the NDHM ecosystem, Health Records are held by Health Repository Providers (HRP) chosen by Health Facilities. A Health Locker is also being integrated, re imaging the hospital experience. Aggregated and Anonymized data sets will enable new opportunities in epidemic tracking and better health policy making.


Anonymized data sets will provide training data to enable new AI based systems. Over 300 organizations have enrolled and are actions integrating. While Adhaar has much more private information than Health IDs, the ecosystem development is going to be a great challenge valuing the entity of an individual.
